Tapestry Weaving for Beginners—10-21-23
Want to learn an ancient craft that has become increasingly popular among contemporary artists and hobbyists? Join us for this fun and relaxing class to create your own tapestry weaving. You will learn how to set-up a frame loom, weave, change the color of your yarn, create patterns, and add texture to your weaving. No experience is necessary and all supplies are provided.
INSTRUCTOR
This class will be taught by Lien Truong.
SKILLS LEARNED
• Set up the loom and warp (vertical threads)
• Design with different colors and textures of yarn or fabric strips
• Create basic woven patterns
SUSTAINABILITY
• Work with a simple, reusable loom
• Weave with materials that have been rescued for re-use by our Second Stitch program
• Create a woven panel that can be displayed as a wall hanging or used and re-used in multiple ways
