Beginner Needlepoint: Initial Wallet—November 9 and 16, 2024 (1pm–4pm)

$100.00

Please note: This class meets twice (November 9 and 16). You will need to attend both sessions to complete the project.

Needlepoint is a type of embroidery that involves stitching patterns or designs onto a stiff, open-weave canvas using a needle and thread, typically embroidery floss or wool. The stitches are usually made in a grid pattern, filling in the design area to create intricate, colorful images or geometric shapes.

Unlike other forms of embroidery, needlepoint focuses on covering the entire canvas with stitches, and it often uses simple diagonal stitches. It has been a popular form of textile art for centuries and is appreciated for its durability and precision.

During this class, you will learn to create a needlepoint panel with your choice of initial and colors. When complete, you'll learn how to perfectly install this panel in a wallet (designed to display needlepoint) that you can carry or give as a gift. All supplies are included.

SKILL LEVEL:
Beginner. No previous experience is required.

INSTRUCTOR:
Tess Kvale, the designer and founder of Hello Tess, comes from a family with a deep love for needlepoint. Her mother has been a needlepoint designer for decades, known for her designs for The Silver Needle, Colonial Needlepoint, and her own line, Doolittle Stitchery. Tess learned from her mother, and quickly realized how relaxing and meditative needlepoint can be. She feels that needlepoint saved her life and has allowed her to erase the distinctions between work and play. Learn more atwww.hellotessdesigns.com
