Alterations 200: Convert Your Crew- or V-Neck to a Cardigan or Full-Zip Jacket (June 29, 2024)
In this 3-hour session, we will convert a sweater or sweatshirt into a cardigan/jacket, with or without a zipper. You will learn how to work with knits so that they look professional (no waviness!). We will also cover basic size alterations.
SKILL LEVEL—Novice
Students should have used a sewing machine a few times and completed one or more projects within the last few years. (NOTE: This class is not well suited for absolute beginners with little or no sewing machine experience.)
WHAT TO BRING:
Bring in one sweatshirt (it can be a hoodie) or a sweater to restyle.

Her passion is supporting new and experienced sewists in the creation of beautiful, comfortable clothes that fit as great as they look. Over the last two years, Michelle has been working as a garment sewing instructor and has been immersed in research on the latest techniques and methods, including CAD pattern drafting, projector sewing, and sustainable sewing practices both in the home sewing and commercial fashion industries.
