Master Your Sewing Machine [Intermediate Class]—April 9, 16, 23, 30 (4:30–6:30pm)

$120.00

This sequence of four weekly classes is ideal for intermediate sewists who have completed our sequence of beginner sewing classes (or have equivalent experience). If you do not have a machine, you can borrow one of ours, or we can help you find a used machine that suits your needs. $115 class fee covers four weeks of instruction and all supplies.

Classes will be held weekly on Wednesdays (April 9, 16, 23, 30) 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Class projects may vary somewhat depending on the instructor and interests of the students.

In “Master Your Machine,” we will focus on practical applications with our sewing machines, creating two projects with more complex construction and finishing skills.

Project 1: TEE-SHIRT—Learn to work with knit fabrics as well as how to cut and sew a garment from a pattern. Students will also learn how to make adjustments to ensure a proper fit and finish the garment to perfection.

Project 2: AMPED-UP PILLOW—Building on the skills learned in our beginner class, you’ll take your home-dec sewing to the next level by adding buttonholes, appliqué, or free-motion embroidery and by creating strips for piping (the same skill for creating binding or fabric tubes [rouleau]).
