Open Indigo Dyeing—May 4 (2024), 10am–12pm

$25.00

Grab a white garment or other small textile item and dive into the basics of indigo dyeing! This is a perfect way to give new life to a stained or yellowed garment—or just add something new and beautiful to your spring/summer wardrobe. No experience is needed and instruction will be provided.

WHAT TO BRING:
Bring your own item to dye. A shirt, skirt, dress, pillowcase, tea towel, tote bag, or set of napkins makes an ideal project. (We are unable to accommodate very large projects, such as duvet covers.)

For the best results, select a white garment/item that is made with 100% natural fibers, such as cotton, wool, linen, hemp, or silk. If you choose a natural/synthetic blend, it will result in a paler shade of blue.

INSTRUCTOR:
Dawne Hoeg is the founder and Executive Director of Stitch Buffalo. She taught in the Textile and Fiber Arts Design Department at Buffalo State College and served as the handwork teacher at the Aurora Waldorf School.
