Quilt Binding: Basics and Beyond—with Linda Hunter
Quilt Binding: Basics and Beyond—with Linda Hunter
Learn how to finish off your quilting projects with a flawless binding! Working on pre-quilted fabric, students will learn how to calculate the yardage needed for straight-grain or bias binding. They will then be guided through examples of: bias binding; sewing binding along the edge of a quilt (or other project); mitering the corners of the binding around a quilt; hand sewing the binding to the back of the quilt; and joining the ends of the binding with a flawless finish.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Students should be comfortable using a sewing machine and with basic hand-sewing techniques.
WHAT TO BRING:
All tools and supplies will be provided. Students may use our studio sewing machines, but are also welcome to bring their own machines if they prefer to work on those.
