Every year, more than 200 refugee women living in Western New York receive tools, supplies, and training from Stitch Buffalo. Of those, many also choose to become active members of the Refugee Women’s Workshop and earn money through the sale of their handcrafted goods. We are grateful to know these brave and talented women—and to help them build safe, happy lives in their new home.
Dah John came to Buffalo more than ten years ago, but after leaving Burma she first lived in a refugee camp in Thailand for eight years. She is a long-time Stitch Buffalo artist and has become a popular instructor of our embroidery workshops.
