Grab your white garments or other small textile items and explore the process of indigo dyeing (blue) and marigold dyeing (yellow)—and the potential to combine them and make green! This is a perfect way to give new life to a stained or yellowed garment, or just add something new and beautiful to your spring/summer wardrobe. This session will have minimal formal instruction, so you can play and practice to your heart’s content.
WHAT TO BRING:
Bring your own items to dye. Shirts, skirts, dresses, pillowcases, tea towels, tote bags, or cloth napkins are ideal. For the best results, select a white garment/item that is made with 100% natural fibers, such as cotton, wool, linen, hemp, or silk. If you choose a natural/synthetic blend, it will result in a paler shade of blue. If you don’t have a project in mind, we’ll have white cotton fabric you can use. (NOTE: We are unable to accommodate very large projects, such as duvet covers.)
