Felt Pin Making at WNY Book Arts Center

  • WNY Book Arts Center 468 Washington Street Buffalo, NY, 14203 United States (map)

Join in as Stitch Buffalo leads a felt pin-making workshop. Pins will proudly read “Use Your Voice #Stop Asian Hate” in a variety of languages, mirroring the work of WNY Book Arts Gallery’s current exhibiting artist Mizin Shin.

In this workshop, participants will choose a language for their pin and stitch felt pieces together to create a wearable piece of art. Each participant has the opportunity to add embellishments with expert guidance from the Stitch Buffalo artists. Pre-registration is encouraged, but drop-ins are welcome. Pins take approximately 15–30 minutes to create, with the opportunity to work longer if you want to get more involved in the stitching!

Price: $15 (or $10 for WNYBAC members). Proceeds of the workshop will support the Stitch Buffalo artists leading the workshop as well as organizations supporting AAPI communities.

Learn more about Mizin Shin’s exhibition “Spoken and Seen #UseYourVoice,” featuring Shin’s new screenprint series along with her current campaign, Use Your Voice #StopAsianHate—a response to rising rates of racially motivated prejudice and violence.
