We'll use American Vachetta leather from Pensyvannia's Wickett & Craig tannery to hand-build a full-grain vegetable-tanned leather tote bag. This leather starts very light in color and develops a gorgeous caramel patina over time making it uniquely yours. Please refer to pictures below to see the difference between a newly-built bag (February 2023) and the exact same tote after daily use.
You will learn how to mark and follow a leather pattern, do edge work, punch holes, use wet-mold lacing technique, affix solid rivets, and customize with initials, name, or date. Optional: add a magnetic closure, and your choice of short handles or shoulder straps. Tote measures about 15" wide, 13" high, 3" deep.
