Make one-of-a-kind holiday gifts for your family and friends! Kids (ages 8–13) of all skill levels will enjoy hands-on textile crafts in a relaxed and encouraging environment.
Gifts you’ll make include:
• Macrame bracelet
• Indigo dyed t-shirt* (or other small item)
• Peace garland
• Block printed tea towel
*Note: Kids may bring a 100% cotton, white t-shirt that will fit their gift recipient. Otherwise, we’ll have other small items here they can choose from to make their dyed project.
All classes will be led by Dawne Hoeg, the founder and executive director of Stitch Buffalo. She is an experienced instructor who served as the handwork teacher at the Aurora Waldorf School and taught in the Textile and Fiber Arts Design Department at Buffalo State College. She will be assisted by skilled volunteers with strong teaching experience, and artists from the Refugee Women’s Workshop.
Snacks and beverages will be provided, but students are also welcome to bring lunch and can use our fridge.
