Learn to how to dye with easy-to-find plants! This workshop will teach you the basics of bundle dyeing using foraged or homegrown plant materials as well as plant-based kitchen remnants. We will also learn about creating a dye bath with particularly abundant materials such as onion skins and black walnut hulls.
We will have fabrics and dye materials on hand for you to use but, but you may also bring other dye sources you’d like to experiment with. Suggested items include: marigolds, hollyhock, dried flowers/rose petals, hibiscus, cosmos, oak leaves, pomegranate seeds, coffee, and sumac cones.

• Attendance is limited
• To care for our community, all Stitch Buffalo instructors are fully vaccinated
• As much as possible, each student will have their own work space. Some classes require the use of shared workstations, such as ironing boards and cutting tables.
• Hand sanitizer and other cleaning supplies will be available
• If weather permits, doors and windows will be open to improve air circulation
• If you are feeling unwell, please stay home. You may contact us to make arrangements for credit on a future class enrollment.
