UPDATE (EVENT CANCELED)—Due to a major traffic accident, Shannon has been forced to cancel her visit to Buffalo, NY.

As many of you know, Shannon has been living on the road in her RV for about two years, traveling the country to provide arts education and inspiration at schools, community centers, museums, and more. While she was not hurt, the accident has left her unable to continue with her work for at least the immediate future.

If you'd like to offer support, please follow Shannon on Instagram (@badasscrossstitch), visit her website (www.badasscrossstitch.com), or subscribe to her Patreon (www.patreon.com/BadassCrossStitch). We're all rooting for her to get back on her feet and back to the incredibly valuable work she is so amazing at doing!

About Shannon

Shannon Downey is an artist, activist, craftivist, community builder, and general instigator who creates art projects designed to inspire others to take action, think, discuss, engage with democracy and their community, and find some digital/analog balance.

In her own words, “I am queer, anti-racist, feminist, anti-capitalist, highly political, and committed to growth, learning, honesty, and doing whatever I can to make this an equitable world. My art generally tackles what I call ‘the big three’ systems of oppression: white supremacy, patriarchy, and capitalism.”
